Joseph of Arimathea was one of Jesus' disciples. He supposedly collected Jesus'

blood in the Holy Grail and removed Him from the Cross. In the story of King Arthur, Sir Lancelot and Sir Galahad are his final direct descendants. He is also accredited with bringing Christianity to Britain in the year 63 AD. (1)
Joseph of Arimathea was said to have founded the first Christian Church in England.
Was Joseph of Arimathea a coward or a saint?
Some say that he was a coward when he wouldn't announce that he was a disciple of Jesus because he was affraid of the Jews.
Others say that he was a saint. After Jesus's death, he bravely went to Pilate to ask for his body. He buried Jesus according to Jewish customs. Most of Jesus's other disciples left for fear of Jewish elders and the Romans.(2)
Joseph was a member of the Sanhedrin, the Jewish council that decided to kill Jesus. However, since Joseph was a secret disciple, he did not agree to that decision. He and Nicodemus put Jesus's body in a new tomb. (3)
Josepsh of Arimathea was believed to be descendant of Pilate who gave him the cup but he soon lost. Jesus appeared to him in a dungeon after the resurrection and gave him back the cup that was lost. After the fall of Jerusalem, he was set free and joined an exodus to England where he settled in Glastonbury. (4)
Joseph captured the blood of Jesus after he was stabbed with a spear and he bled out. The cup it dripped into happens to be the Holy Grail. Joseph is then imprisoned for 42 years and is taught the significance of the Holy Grail from Jesus Christ. Once Joseph is released from prison, he builds a table symbolic of the one used in the Last Supper. A place for Judas is kept empty until the table is filled in future years. Joseph's decendent, Sir Galahad fills Judas's spot. The seat is given the nickname "The Siege Perilous." (5)
