(2)King Arthur the movie is a more historical version of the King Arthur legend. Unlike other King Arthur movies and books where the focus is on the mystical King Arthur, this movie focuses on what Arthur would have been like in real life. For example, in this movie, King Arthur is a Roman Calvary man, not the illegitimate child of a king due to a magical disguise.

The movie has recieved both positive and negative responses. The biggest problem with the movie were the many historical inaccuracies found, and the decpetive portrayal of the "originial" story. Another problem for the public was the film's stereotyping of the Catholic Church. Also, the film strayed a bit from the story towards the end. It made Merlin and Arthur enemies, and made Sir Launcelor die in the end. The violence was a bit much at some points of the movie, and many critics believe that it could have been toned down a bit.
However, there were positive responses as well. Critics appriciated the attempt of the new viewpoint taken on by the producers to create another explanation for the Arthurian Legend. The actor playing the role of Tristran gives the character a lot of intensity, which is well- liked. The director gave a new angle and way to look at the Arthurian legend that was new.
