The Questing Beast

questing beast2(3)

The Questing Beast is an animal that has a leapard body, a serpent head, a lion's hindquarters, and rabbit's feet. It makes a noise from its stomach that resembles the barking of a pack of hounds. In the Authurian Legend, it is pursued by Pellinore and later seen by Authur though only for a glimpse. The questing beast was said to have been created by a woman's pact with the devil. The woman desired her brother, but the brother rejected her. The woman then made a deal with the devil. The devil murdered the brother and fathered the Questing beast on the woman.(2)

Eagle: To do evil wiht premeditation,
And to abide long in its purpose
Is called sin and failure.
