Sir Balin is also known as the knight wtih two swords when he pulls an enchanted sword off of a damsel. Balin wrongfully kills the Lady of the Lake, and must go on a quest to find and capture King Royns, King Arthur's enemy, in order to gain his respect back. Balin continues to be the cause of many deaths of lovers, and the sole reason the Dolorous Stroke occured. He meets up with his brother to quest together, however they fatefully end up killing one-another when they fight in the end. (3)

The invisible knight, Sir Garlot, is a cause of Sir Balin's failure to protect. (4)

Sir Balin and the Dolorous Stroke

Sir Balin through his quest decided to revenge Sir Herlews and Sir Perin buy killing the knight who rides invisibly, Sir Garlon. After killing him he his chased by King Pellam, who was unknowingly related to Longinus (the Roman who stabbed Jesus), and while hiding in a dark room stabbed him with the spear that was used to stab Jesus. This delivered the Dolorous Stroke leading the Castle to collapse with everyone dying exept King Pellam and Sir Balin and it gave King Pellan a wound that would remain open until Sir Galahad would heal him. Merlin, after saving Sir Balin, told him they would never meet again. (5)
