The KnightThis is a featured page

The Knight is the first real pilgrim mentioned in the Canterbury Tales. The narrator tells of his many exploits all over the world. The knight fought in various crusades as well as formal jousts, in which he always killed his opponent. Later, the knight asks for happier stories to be told, instead of tragic falls. He also stops a fight between the narrator and pardoner. It's odd that he, a knight, keeps trying to avoid conflicts. (1)

(2) This is a picture of the knight. Described in the story, his shirt was stained because he never changed his shirt and regularly wiped his sword on it. This is very unusual because knights were supposed to always be seen as honorable relatively clean people.
